Pamela's Daybook: February 6

This week: We celebrated birthdays Saturday. It was Camron's 6th birthday, and today is Sarah Morgan's 9th birthday. We all met at Bird's Barbeque to eat, then went back to Melanie's home for dessert -- Batman cake for Camron and pink sprinkled doughnuts for Morgan. It's always fun to watch the Clemens' cousins together, and to catch up with Shawn's mother, Sheryl, too.

Looking forward to: We have a lot going on this week. Every day we are doing something outside of our home. I'm hoarding Saturday for an at-home day. Today is our last writing class at Heartland Christian School. RB has been teaching essay, and I am teaching short story. We've been getting some great work.

Thankful for:  Plumbers!

Praying for: I'm praying for so many today. Those on my Shelter: Postmarked group list, a friend of RB's whose teenage son is having heart surgery today, for Herald and Banner's staff...the list goes on, but God hears them all.

At my writing desk: I wrote twenty-four activities in the past four days, plus a few other things. I met with two other leaders from our writers' group to plan meetings for the next three months.

I'm reading: I've read eight books so far this year. Standing out from all others is "The Insanity of God: A true story of faith resurrected" by Nik Ripken. It's an amazing story of God working in the midst of intense persecution. So compelling and, at the same time, hard to read.

Of Hygge cozy joy: Burning Scentsible Scents Sugar Pumpkins today. First time I've used this brand, but they were 70% off. I'm sold! It's burning straight across and smells amazing.

Favorite Quote: Don't you ever give up in freedom what we would never give up in persecution. Nik Ripken
